The full length course takes an average of total of 30 days to complete. 10 am to 3 pm Monday, Wednesday and Fridays excluding any holidays. I break the days up so that people have time to continue working their current jobs instead of needing to quit and go all in on this for 30 days straight with no income. I realize it is a large time commitment. This will teach you everything listed in all 3 categories on the homepage of this website. With all these skills combined you can go to work for literally any company you please, providing yourself multiple streams of possible income depending on what is booming at any given time or just whatever you feel like doing that year and easily make 100 to 130k a year minimum. I have done so consistently the past 5 years. I can’t even count how many times I went to a general repair call and ended up selling entry doors, patio doors, glass and a host of other things because I already had my foot in the door.

I offer a shorter 10 day course for those who only wish to learn the basics of the most common window installation which is known in the industry as an insert window. This course is significantly less expensive and will focus on how to measure for, install, wrap and caulk insert windows. Also included are tool recommendations, details about how to be legally compliant for Lead Safe work, tempered glass, egress and detailed instructions on how to remove every type of window manufactured over the last 75 years. With this skill set alone you can still expect to make 60 to 80k per year at any local company.

It is worth noting that the full course begins with learning insert windows. This way even if you intend to complete the full course you can at least begin selling insert window jobs or soliciting work from local companies to begin making some upgraded income in your life. Then as we progress through the full course you can obviously add to your skill set.

Class is held inside a commercial building space in the heart of Maplewood. I have a large classroom setup with various hands on demo models for the different skills you will be learning. There is no substitute for doing the actual work. You will never become proficient at any trade by just watching videos or reading about it or listening to someone talk in person, let along learning on someones home in a rushed, stressful environment. You need to get the tools in yours hands and get on a ladder and really get a feel for the work with time to spare and room to make mistakes and learn from them. This course will have all the tools on site. Everything we need to make sure you can tell your first customer or employer that you have actually done this before, not just read about it or watched a youtube video.

If you opt for the full length course and aren’t feeling confident at the end of the 30 days, I will be able to allow a finite number of students the time to work in the shop for 1 extra week. I want you to feel good about your abilities and your investment and I won’t rest until you do. A lot of these skill sets you will likely be able to pick up after doing them once or twice but wrapping and caulking will be the main focus and require the most repetition for most people. We will be doing mock tear outs and installs of 1st and 2nd floor height windows. No matter how many good guys there may or may not be out there doing this at any given time, there is never enough. You will never be without opportunities. These days almost everyone is hiring all year round. It’s true what people say, good help is hard to find and that problem has been very quickly escalating the past few years. You will be the figurative needle in a tradesman haystack. I can say this with confidence because I spent a solid 2 years with a permanent now hiring add up online and driving around with one on my company truck. Every guy I ever hired ultimately had to be fired. No one ever made it longer than 4 months before making a crucial mistake or a series of smaller but still problematic mistakes. I ran a really tight ship and anybody who is serious about their business will absolutely be the same way. I will make sure you understand exactly what you need to do and never do to make yourself a standout in this business. I still get referrals from the very first customers I ever had because I have always given 110% and people never forget that. There are so many truly awful contractors out there. Be the change this market needs. Just treat people the way you want to be treated and provide them the same quality of work you would perform on your own home and you cannot fail.

For the 10 day course you should be able to retain all the knowledge you learned pretty easily after doing it over and over, 5 hours a day for 10 days. But each full length 30 day course comes with a physical copy of my 17 chapter book, painstakingly detailing the correct and safe approach for all skills listed under the 3 categories on my home page, PLUS a year of support from me. Yes you read that right. If you have any kind of problem or question whatsoever during your first year in business you can reach out to me directly and get the help you need. I want you to succeed!

The next course begins April 1st. Reach out today for more information on how to reserve your spot.
